Following completion of his BSc (Hons) degree in 2003 Ian worked for the NHS for 3 years. In 2006 he began working in private healthcare clinics across the City of London and Harley Street. In January 2010 he became the full time Director of Sports Podiatry Info Ltd and now provides a high level service from a private clinic in Essex, and also consults for Pure Sports Medicine and Bupa Health and Wellbeing UK in London.
Ian has experience with a vast range of patients from the recreational runner completing their first marathon right through to professional international footballers and golfers. He has obtained a postgraduate certificate in Sports Podiatry and also recently completed his Masters degree in Sports Injury at Manchester Metropolitan University, where he was awarded a distinction for his research into supination resistance (and this work has since been accepted for publication in the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association).
Ian was a member of the official medical team for the Adidas Half Marathon at the Silverstone Grand Prix track from 2006 to 2008, has written articles for Men’s Health and Runners World magazines, and has appeared on the BBC London News as an in-studio expert. Ian will be based in the athlete’s village as part of the medical team at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
